Automated InterestAutomated Interest
Administrator level Users within LMS may use the [Interest All Accts] button
on the Accounts menu to run the interest charging process at any time. This will roll the interest charging forward by one cycle for each account where the next interest due date is today or earlier. Multiple running of this process is safe and can be used to catch up and lagging interest cycles, even if you are using the LMSAutoProc7 program discussed in the next section.
This button should be used daily. If the interest charging has not taken place for more than a few days (say 3), then this process should be run more than once.
This button is not available to Basic (level 3) or Operator (level 6) users.
LMSAutoProc7.exe
This is a utility program which is an optional use process for the Genawise Loan Manager System, Corporate.
It is designed to:-
The program has no "Windows" screens, and is what is known as a Console Program.
The program requires two command line parameters
1. The Company Sysid to be used (This will be advised by Genawise ) 2. The Company 4 letter code (UPPERCASE) as set with the program LMSConfig.exe
examples:
lmsautoproc7 11 DEMO <- would process company with code of demo or DEMO
lmsautoproc7 1 AAPL <- would process company with code of AAPL
Dependencies
The program needs to be able to access the file LMS12345.tps in the local folder. Then it needs to be able to connect to a running Microsoft SQL Server as per the settings stored in the LMS12345.tps file. Loading the settings needs to be done with the program LMSConfig.exe, also part of the Loan Manager System.
Logging
The program will write a log file each time it is run showing any error or the number of transactions processed. The log file will be in the same folder as the program and will be named
LMS7_AutoLog_XXXX.LOG where the XXXX represents the company CODE passed as a parameter. If no company code is passed on the parameter line, then the file will be named LMS7_AutoLog_XXX.LOG
The log files may safely be moved, renamed or deleted, and the system will build a fresh file the next time it is run. Or, you may edit the file(s) by deleting rows determined as no longer required. Used a simple text editor such as Notepad for editing.
Scheduling
The program will not run before 01:00AM (local computer time) or after 06:00PM. You will need to have your local PC Technician/ Database Administrator manage the setup of the scheduling of the process. The system is provided by Genawise and we do not support the management of the scheduling.
It should be scheduled to run EVERY day of the week, so that interest charges are applied on the day they are due.
